Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School


Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School is located in the centre of Istanbul which is a big city having a variety of people from different socio-economic classes. Our school is located in a district called Yenibosna where people of middle socio-economic status live. It receives many migrants from various parts, especially from the east of Turkey. 

With 1876 students (age 14-18), it has been a vocational school since 25 June, 2013. Before that date, it was a general secondary school. Vocational departments were opened in 2014-2015 education year. Besides vocational departments such as electrical and computer classes, our school now applies a general programme composed of different branches specializing in science and mathematics, social sciences and foreign languages. The number of our students who have the opportunity to attend various universities in Turkey is increasing every year. Our school has both morning and afternoon classes. There are 80 teachers from different branches including mainly Literature, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, English, Computer, Electrical, Music and Physical Education.

Our school also participates in various social activities besides preparing students for higher education. For instance, we have football, volleyball, basketball teams and gain success in the tournaments. In addition, students are supported to attend the local competitions in the branches such as literature, drawing and music.

In addition, since 2012, our school has been equipped with smart boards in every class by FATIH Project that is supported by our Ministry of National Education. Our school previously joined Comenius Program (2010-2012) as a participant country. In 2013, we hosted a Comenius assistant in our school.
